Junta Forces Attack Hinthakone Village in Matarya, Two Civilians Killed, Four Injured

November 7, 2024 – In Matarya Township, Mandalay Region, junta forces attacked Hinthakone village with heavy artillery, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to four others, including a 65-year-old elderly woman, according to a spokesperson from Voice Of Mandalay.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on November 7, 2024, the military launched an attack on Hinthakone village using large-caliber weapons, killing a man and a woman on the spot. In addition to the two fatalities, four others were injured, including a 65-year-old elderly woman, who sustained severe wounds. Local sources reported the situation to Voice Of Mandalay.

“The military forces attacked Hinthakone village with heavy artillery this afternoon, resulting in the death of a man and a woman, and injuring four others, including an elderly woman aged 65,” said a representative from Voice Of Mandalay.

In a similar incident on November 3, 2024, military forces attacked Koyinpin village in Matarya Township with heavy artillery, killing a man and a woman, both approximately 70 years old.

Junta forces have been regularly using large-caliber weapons in various locations within Matarya Township, including Thitdawmo village, the Mandalay-Nyaung Kwe road section, Mingun, and Khalae-95. The military has also been stationed near the Matarya football field, continuing to carry out relentless attacks on local civilians, according to further reports from Voice Of Mandalay.
