In the southern Shan State, military airstrikes in Pinlaung and Pekhon townships have resulted in the deaths of six civilians, including a child, with more than 200 people detained by the military, according to a spokesperson from the Karen National Defense Force (KNDF) Central News and Information Department.

On November 11, 2024, military forces from the junta detained around 200 local civilians from Puchal village in Pekhon township as they returned from harvesting crops. These individuals were illegally arrested by military personnel and taken to a military base within the Pinlaung-Pekhon area, where they are being held for questioning. The identities and demographics of those detained are still unclear, and their families are reportedly unaware of their whereabouts.

Meanwhile, military personnel stationed in Pekhon township have carried out various operations, including raiding and looting homes in villages and neighborhoods along the Pinlaung-Pekhon route, such as Nampawmoo, Pinsone, Luingkyine, Konepao, and Bhamok. Properties have been looted, and houses set on fire. The extent of the property damage is still unknown, but the military’s actions have significantly disrupted the lives of the local population.
