On an airstrike by the military junta on Thinchikhai Village, TaungKok Township, Rakhine State, resulted in the deaths of four civilians and left several others injured. The attack targeted a civilian area unrelated to any military operations, according to local sources.
“The airstrike on Thinchikhai Village killed four civilians and caused injuries to others. Homes were also destroyed in the attack. Thinchikhai is near Don Village, which was previously set ablaze by junta forces,” a local source reported.
The victims of the airstrike have been identified as Ko Ringo, Daw Shwe Yee Win, Daw Daisy Myint, and Daw Than Than Aye. Those injured include Ma Manila Thwe, in her 20s; Ko Zinko Oo, aged 35; U Tin Aye, aged 70; and U Ba Chit, aged 80. The strike also caused extensive property damage, with several homes burned down during the incident.
This attack occurred amidst ongoing heavy clashes in the Taungkok area, raising further concerns about the military’s indiscriminate use of airstrikes on civilian-populated areas. Local sources have condemned the targeting of non-military zones, emphasizing the devastating impact on innocent lives and communities.
