The Myanmar military shelled villages in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region, with artillery, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to two others, according to the Karen National Union (KNU) central command.
On December 10, Battalion 57 of the military stationed in Angni Village fired two 60mm artillery shells at Yontaing Village. The attack claimed the life of Daw Thay, a 67-year-old resident of Yontaing Village.
The following day, on December 11, Battalion 264 based in Pinzalote fired a 120mm artillery shell at Chone-In Village and another 120mm shell at Gwekone Village, causing further destruction and fear among local residents.
