A military drone strike targeted the Hindu temple in Yan Naga Village, Zeyarwadi Town, Phyu Township, Bago Region, resulting in the deaths of seven Hindu civilians, according to local residents.
The attack occurred on December 31, when the military launched a drone strike on the temple where Hindu worshippers had gathered. The strike instantly killed seven civilians, left many others injured, and caused significant damage to the temple structure.
Frequent clashes between military council forces and resistance forces continue in areas between Zeyarwadi and Nyaung Chay Htauk villages in Phyu Township. Residents report that many civilians have been forced to flee due to ongoing conflict.
Since mid-December, intense clashes have been reported across villages in Zeyarwadi. The military council has cut off phone and internet connections in the area, while daily drone strikes continue to target civilian areas, according to local sources.
