A military airstrike on Kyantali Town in Gwa Township, Rakhine State, claimed the lives of a mother and her three-year-old child earlier today, according to local news source Arakan Princess Media.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on February 13, a military aircraft bombed Kyantali’s No. 1 Thaphan Quarter, killing three-year-old Maung Phyu Lay and his 40-year-old mother, Daw Hla Aye. Four others sustained injuries during the attack: U Tin Thein (63), U Myint Naing (37), U Hla Tin (35), and Daw Nyunt Nyunt San (45).
The airstrike marks another tragic incident of civilian casualties amid escalating military operations in the region.
