An airstrike by the military on the Nankhar village clinic in Gangaw Township, Magway Region, has killed 11 civilians, including Dr. Mya Soe Aung, his pregnant wife Daw Khine Hnin Wai, and their young child, according to local sources.

The attack took place at 8:38 a.m. on March 22, when a jet fighter from the Meiktila Air Force dropped bombs on the clinic. At the time of the strike, Dr. Mya Soe Aung was providing medical care to patients, including his pregnant wife. The bombing killed the doctor, his wife, and their child, along with eight other civilians who had come for medical treatment. Six others sustained injuries.

“The doctor and his wife died together. Their entire family was lost. Among the deceased, five were children. This is only based on the bodies recovered so far, and the actual death toll could be higher,” said Ko Bekaung from the Yo Alintan group.

The airstrike caused a fire that destroyed the clinic and damaged nearby houses. Local sources reported that there were no ongoing battles in Nankhar village at the time, and the attack deliberately targeted civilians.
