Four civilians from Kyapin North village in Salingyi Township, Magway Region, were executed by the military, their hands tied behind their backs before being strangled with ropes, according to a local administrative official. Their bodies were later dumped into a latrine pit.

In addition, five displaced civilians suffering from pre-existing health conditions reportedly died in the forest while fleeing military operations.

Since March 6, a military column of around 200 troops advancing from Minbu has been conducting raids on villages across Salingyi Township.

Between March 9 and 11, troops entered Kyapin North village, capturing seven civilians inside the village school. Two retired individuals were later released, while one person managed to escape. However, the remaining four—aged 40, 50, 50, and 60—were executed by soldiers, who tied their hands behind their backs before strangling them with ropes. Their bodies were then discarded within the village.

More than 10,000 residents from 24 villages in Salingyi Township have fled due to the military operations. Among them, five displaced individuals suffering from illness reportedly perished in the forest.
