A total of 46 people have been confirmed dead, and 950 homes have been destroyed due to the recent earthquake in Kela and Zayapgyi villages, located in the Inle region of Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State, according to a representative from the Inle Region Human Rights Organization.
The powerful earthquake that struck on March 28 caused widespread damage in the Inle region. As of now, casualty and destruction reports have been confirmed only for these two villages.
According to available data, 41 people were killed in Kela village, where 818 homes were destroyed. Meanwhile, Zayapgyi village recorded five deaths, with 132 houses, one monastery, and one school severely damaged.
