Armed Forces Attack and Burn Homes in Yinmarpin and Shwebo Townships

On April 28, armed forces launched an assault on Thikone village in the Yinmarpin Township of Sagaing Region, burning over 100 civilian homes to the ground. Reports from local news sources, including the Yinmarpin Township News Committee, indicate that the military not only set fire to houses but also looted civilian property during the attack. Additionally, on April 29, Shwebo Township’s Kyar (Taung) village was similarly targeted, with armed forces setting fire to the area around 5:30 PM. The military remains present in the villages, and local residents are currently fleeing, making it difficult to confirm the extent of the damage. It has been reported that the military has stationed large vehicles and armed personnel at various locations, including Kyar and Pone Lakhon villages.
