Starting around 6:30 AM, military forces reportedly began setting fire to Thantaw Village in Kanbluh Township, Sagaing Region. Local residents stated that nearly 300 homes were in the village, and over 100 of them have already been burned down. “The soldiers had been stationed in the village since yesterday, and this morning, they set fire to the village. They broke open the doors of every house and looted the belongings,” a local resident told the Yangon Times.
After burning more than 100 homes on the eastern side of Thantaw Village, the military reportedly left the village by 8:00 AM. Following their departure, residents returned to extinguish the fires, according to local sources.
