Military Junta Torches Thantlang for 28th Time, Over 1,200 Civilian Homes Destroyed in Nine Months

Thantlang, Chin State, has been set ablaze for the 28th time by the occupying military junta forces, resulting in the destruction of more than 1,200 civilian homes over the past nine months, according to a statement from the Thantlang Placement and Coordination Committee (TPAC). On May 24 and 26, 135 homes were burned during the latest round of attacks. On May 27, Chin resistance forces launched a four-hour assault on junta military and police stations in Thantlang, killing six soldiers and injuring many others, according to the Chinland Defense Force (CDF). The town, once home to around 10,000 residents, has been entirely abandoned due to the constant military raids and arson.
