In the afternoon, the military invaded Khin U Village in Shwebo District, Sagaing Region, setting fire to the village and destroying over 50 civilian homes, according to local residents.
The military’s arson not only affected civilian homes but also damaged the village’s firefighting station, rice granaries, motorcycles, rice threshers, and tractors.
A local resident commented, “There are more than 50 homes that have been burned down, along with all the motorcycles and business equipment in the village. Many household items have also been destroyed in the fire. We urgently need assistance for the people.”
Following the military’s attack on Khin U Village, local defense forces, including the NLGRF, the Red Tiger Brigade, and local groups, reportedly came together to extinguish the fires.
Currently, there is a pressing need for food supplies, as well as rain protection materials and medical supplies due to the monsoon season.
