Military Junta Executes 10 Civilians in Letpan Kyin Village

In Letpan Kyin village of Myinmu Township, a military junta reportedly executed 10 civilians, according to local sources and the Myinmu News Agency.

On August 1, military forces, including four helicopters from the northern command of Mon State, invaded Letpan Kyin village, committing acts of violence against the residents.

During the airstrikes on August 1, a woman, a man working in a rice field, and a civilian near a school were killed. On August 2, the bodies of six additional civilians were discovered in the village, with local sources indicating that the death toll may rise further.

While inquiries about the identities of the 10 civilians killed have been made to the Myinmu News Agency, no information has been released yet.

In addition to the civilian casualties over the two days, the junta also attacked and burned down a local monastery and a rural health clinic, reportedly slaughtering cattle as well. Furthermore, 14 local villagers were detained by the military junta, forced into military uniforms, and taken away as conscripts. As of today, August 3, they have yet to be released, according to villagers.
