TNLA Captures Nyaungcho Gok Twin Base; Military Casualties and Weapons Seized Amid Ongoing Battles in Momeik Township

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported the successful capture of the Gok Twin base belonging to the junta forces in Nyaungcho Township, Shan State, resulting in the seizure of military casualties and a significant cache of weapons.

On July 12, around 5:30 AM, joint forces of the TNLA and DPLA engaged in a confrontation with fleeing junta troops from the 606 artillery battalion at the Gok Twin base, ultimately leading to its capture.

From the captured base, TNLA has reported recovering several military casualties and a variety of weapons, including 15 rifles, two RPG-7s, one grenade launcher, and two 60mm mortars.

The junta forces attempted to strike back, launching three airstrikes with jet fighters, four with Mi35 helicopters, and dropping 64 bombs from Y12 aircraft on the Gok Twin base. Additionally, the junta’s 501 base at Kyaukmae reportedly targeted the Gok Twin with artillery fire on two separate occasions.

Similarly, battles have also erupted in the vicinity of Nyaungcho, involving the TNLA and junta forces. Furthermore, clashes have been reported within Momeik Township, where TNLA, PLA, and MOD PDF joint forces are engaged against the junta’s forces, reportedly seizing one 60mm mortar, seven rifles, two RPG-7s, and a substantial amount of ammunition from a junta base located five miles between Moke-Kut and Momeik.
