Airstrikes and Shelling in Tanintharyi District Result in Civilian Injuries and Property Damage

In the Tanintharyi District, particularly in Pawa and Tharaphone villages, reports indicate that the junta has carried out airstrikes and artillery shelling without any prior battles, resulting in injuries to two civilians and damage to homes, according to statements from local sources in the district.

On July 13, around 2:10 PM, the junta launched at least 18 bombs using jet fighters and artillery without any ongoing combat in Pawa and Tharaphone villages in Tanintharyi District.

As a result of these airstrikes, numerous homes were damaged, and one male and one female civilian sustained injuries. Additionally, domestic animals were reported killed during the attacks.

Furthermore, the 306th Light Infantry Battalion, stationed in Mawtone (East) village of Tanintharyi District, has also been reportedly firing artillery indiscriminately at civilian-populated villages, causing distress and fear among local residents.
