Airstrikes by Military in Kyweka Pin Village Result in One Woman’s Death and Two Children Injured

In Kyweka Pin village, Yatahay township, Pegu Region, an airstrike by the military occurred without any prior conflict, resulting in the death of one woman and severe injuries to two children, according to local residents. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 4, the military used a jet fighter to bomb the village, targeting it with rockets.

Reports indicate that the airstrike led to the death of 22-year-old Manwe Nwe Soe, who was breastfeeding at the time, while 13-year-old Ma Chit San Pyae and 6-year-old Maung Aung Thu Hine sustained serious injuries.

A local resident stated, “There was no conflict in Kyweka Pin village, but the brutal military junta bombed it with a jet fighter. They dropped five bombs with many impacts, resulting in the death of one woman who was breastfeeding, as well as injuries to a 13-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.”
