In Mu Township, Bago Region, the junta forces launched an attack on rural villages with heavy artillery, resulting in injuries to 4 civilians and the arrest of 2 others, according to a statement from the KNU central office.
On the morning of November 20, 2024, around 10:30 AM, the junta stationed in Natthan Kwin village fired 17 rounds of heavy artillery at several villages including Yinhlwe, Wargyi, Taungsu, Thekon, Anyaungsu, Nguwahsin, and West Wetto. These artillery rounds exploded and caused significant damage in these villages.
The artillery attack directly hit two individuals from West Wetto village: 42-year-old Ma Munaw and 51-year-old Ma Thetarsan, who both sustained injuries. In a similar attack in Kwin Chaung Wa village, the junta forces fired two heavy artillery rounds at Haokho Gaw village, causing explosions and injuring two civilians: 27-year-old Naumugewa and 23-year-old Saosel Pluwa. Additionally, Saosel Pluwa’s motorcycle was damaged, and the home of Saomi Tar Hain in Haokho Wa village was also destroyed.
At approximately 11:40 AM on the same day, the junta forces arrested 45-year-old U Theilan from Wargyi village and 33-year-old Saw Naing Tin Htoo from Nokkalaw village, transporting them to Kyauk Kyi Police Station where they were detained.
