A candlelight vigil and public demonstration titled “Prayers for Earthquake Victims in Myanmar” was held on April 6 in front of San Francisco City Hall, organized by the Free Burma Action Committee-Northern California. The event marked the 154th consecutive protest in the city in support of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution.
Participants included members of the Spring Revolution forces, supporters from the Myanmar diaspora, and student youth groups. They gathered to honor and pray for those who lost their lives—monks, students, and civilians alike—following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28.
Alongside the prayers, members of the One Myanmar Community collaborated to collect donations for earthquake victims. Organizers stated that the funds would be directly delivered to the affected areas on the ground in Myanmar.
