On January 29, at around 1 a.m., military forces from the junta violently raided Wetlet Township in Sagaing Region and captured six civilians who had been in hiding. The six men, residents of Thitseintgyi Village, were bound with wire and burned alive, according to the Wetlet Township Information Team. The military unit, consisting of about 40 soldiers, arrived by boat and attacked the village using heavy artillery before setting up camp. The soldiers apprehended the six unarmed men, tied them with wire, and subjected them to brutal torture. Reports confirmed that on February 3, the junta forces executed the civilians by setting them on fire while they were still alive. The horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the community, marking yet another atrocity committed by the military regime against innocent civilians.
