In Mantaw village, Khin U Township, junta forces reportedly killed three villagers—Ko Myo Kyaw, Ko Than Nwe, and Ko Myo Tint—during a nighttime raid on March 5. Local residents informed Yangon Times that the military burned down 25 civilian homes and buried mines near the bodies of the deceased. The junta troops entered the village at night, using firearms, and conducted the assault on the civilians. One local resident commented, “The military killed Ko Myo Kyaw, Ko Than Nwe, and Ko Myo Tint, and they planted mines near the bodies. People are afraid to go near the bodies. They also burned down 25 civilian homes.” Similarly, in Thukhut Chaung village in Htantabin Township, the junta forces conducted an attack, destroying 13 homes belonging to civilians by setting them on fire with gasoline, as reported by local residents.
