In Sagaing Township’s Thagara village, a 79-year-old woman was shot and killed by the military during an attack on June 4 at around 6:30 AM. Local residents reported that the violent military operation led to the destruction of over 70 civilian homes and more than 10,000 sacks of rice. Additionally, livestock used for agricultural purposes were also killed. A local resident stated, “Starting from 6:30 AM on June 4, the military entered the village and set fire to it. Over 70 houses were burned down. We found the body of the 79-year-old woman, Daw Hsu, after the military had set fire to her home. Agricultural cattle were also killed, and more than 10,000 sacks of rice were burned, leaving us with nothing.”
