In Yangon, youth staged a protest today calling for the overthrow of the military regime, chanting the slogan “Yangon City Uprising.” Gathering to resist a system of oppression, the youth held signs proclaiming “Yangon City Uprising” while opposing the military junta. Despite facing numerous forms of repression from the military council, the young protesters are fighting alongside the Yangon Revolution Force (YRF) and have expressed the need for community support for the revolutionaries. Today marks the first anniversary of the YRF, and during the protest, they declared, “Even in death, we will remain a spirit dedicated to Yangon.” The YRF reaffirmed its commitment to continue fighting on both the ground and underground. The protest included participation from various groups such as the YRF (Soft Strike Community), Revolution Force (RF), PBYSC, Basic Education Students Union, and the Yangon Uprising Committee (YRSC), who collectively demonstrated against the military.
