The National Unity Government (NUG) announced that its Foreign Minister, Daw Zin Mar Aung, met with Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde on June 8, 2024, to discuss matters related to Myanmar. During their meeting, they addressed various issues, including potential cooperation between the two countries on Myanmar’s democratic affairs, the sacrifices made by the Myanmar people for a new federal democratic state, humanitarian assistance, and ongoing violent acts perpetrated by the military junta.
Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde also expressed support for Myanmar’s democratic cause and its people through a statement on her Twitter page.
