The armed forces arrested three family members of CDM Police Major Aye Min Htun, who is also a personal secretary to Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan. The arrested individuals include his mother, Daw Naw Saptapu (also known as Daw Tin Shwe), his brother Kyaw Soe Aye, and his sister Khine Khine Aye. They were reportedly captured at their residence in Kyauktaw Township around 11 AM.

According to Aye Min Htun, “At around 11 AM today, armed forces arrived in three vehicles and arrested my mother, Daw Naw Saptapu, my brother Kyaw Soe Aye, and my sister Khine Aye. About 30 officers from the Kyauktaw Police Station and the second-in-command were involved in the arrest, and they are currently being held at Battalion 44.”

Aye Min Htun, who was a senior officer with 22 years of experience in the Mon State Police Department, fled to the KNU-controlled area after the armed forces seized power unlawfully. Following the armed forces’ arbitrary arrests and destruction of civilian homes, Aye Min Htun decided to take up arms against the military and is now serving as the head of the People’s Defense Force in KNU’s first brigade.
