A commemorative event for the 77th birthday of Aung San Suu Kyi, a leader of the people, was held on June 19 in New York City, organized by the NYCBC (New York City Burmese Community) and H2B (Helping Hands for Burma). The event took place at Flatiron Public Plaza from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM (Myanmar time: June 20). The event also called for the international community to urgently assist in the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all citizens who have been unjustly detained by the brutal military regime in Myanmar. The program included prayers from representatives of four different religious traditions, with distinguished guests such as Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, renowned poet Maung Swan Yi, Pan Sein Lo, and U Hlaing Win delivering messages of hope. Artists Lin Nit and Kyaw Thiha performed a song dedicated to mothers, while nearly 1,000 attendees, comprising Burmese nationals living in New York, joined in a collective prayer for blessings. Attendees were treated to food provided by generous donors.
