Military Executes Civilian Ko Tin Soe and Ko Pwé Kyi from Mo Kyo Pyin Village, Over 20 Civilians Detained in Sai Taik Village Amid Ongoing Military Operations

In the vicinity of the Chinese Wan Pao project near Mo Kyo Pyin (North) village in the Salin Gyi Township of Sagaing Region, the military executed civilians Ko Tin Soe and Ko Pwé Kyi, as reported by local residents. Around 11 AM on June 21, the military entered Mo Kyo Pyin (North) village, set fire to the entire village, and detained two villagers. It was later discovered that the two detained individuals were tortured, and their bodies were found this morning at 8:30 AM. A local source stated, “Ko Tin Soe had his neck sliced, while Ko Pwé Kyi was disemboweled. These are the two villagers who were captured by the military yesterday.” Earlier today, the military also invaded Sai Taik village, detaining over 20 villagers, including a woman and elderly individuals. Homes were raided, forcing all residents to flee. A resident from Sai Taik village reported, “The military is stationed at the Sai Taik monastery. They have detained Ko Zaw Naing, who is still inside the village. More than 20 women, men, and children have been captured, and there is a danger to the lives of all those detained.” Currently, villagers from Mo Kyo Pyin, including those from nearby villages like Ton Kyei, are fleeing due to the ongoing military operations.
