A three-year-old girl from Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, is undergoing treatment after being shot in the neck during an unprovoked attack by junta soldiers on June 29. The incident occurred near the villages of Myindaw and Thagara at around 9 a.m., injuring both the child and her father, according to local sources.

“The soldiers claimed they were conducting checks on locals heading to the market in Myindaw. Without warning, they started firing randomly. The father and daughter were walking together when they were hit. The father was shot through the ear, and the little girl, who is a girl, was shot in the neck,” a local from Khin-U shared.

The young girl is currently receiving medical care, and her condition is reportedly stable, despite the severity of her injuries. Meanwhile, the military also looted goods from a local shop in Myindaw, including cash, a ring, and mobile phones, locals reported.
