Ethnic Myanmar nationals residing in Sweden held a protest against the brutal military regime in Myanmar. The demonstration featured prominent leaders, including Aung San Suu Kyi, condemned the death sentences imposed on political prisoners Ko Jin Mi and Ko Phyo Zaw. Protesters demanded their immediate release and denounced the military regime led by Min Aung Hlaing, which has been committing atrocities such as arson and mass killings in villages.
They called for more targeted sanctions against the military and its affiliates rather than general economic sanctions on Myanmar. The demonstrators also urged for international support in humanitarian assistance, advocating for direct engagement with the National Unity Government to expedite aid programs crossing borders.
