Military Arson Destroys Over 10 Villages in Wetlet, Causing Extensive Damage to Homes and Medical Facilities

In the Wetlet district of Sagaing Region, over ten villages have been subjected to four consecutive days of arson by the military, leading to significant destruction of homes and medical facilities, according to local residents.

The military’s aggressive actions began on October 15 and have continued to this day, targeting villages such as Pitakchone, Ngakyinai, Sinnin, Kyaungkon, Thitseikgyi, Chaungmito, Thisait, Minkone, Ngapanchaung, Kughyi, Mahtet, Sartangyi, Sikkyechi, Ywarthitkon, and Bhayalaykon.

In the eastern part of Wetlet, arson attacks on military installations have reportedly resulted in the burning of approximately five houses in Pitakchone, five in Ngakyinai, four in Sinnin, thirty-four in Thitseikgyi, three in Kughyi, and over forty in Bhayalaykon. However, the exact extent of the damage in remaining villages is yet to be confirmed. Additionally, it has been reported that medical facilities and supplies in Bhayalaykon and Sartangyi were also set ablaze.
