On December 16, a spokesperson from the S&C group reported that the military junta’s arson attack on Mae-O village in Depayin Township resulted in the destruction of 80 homes. It was revealed that on December 11, the military entered Mae-O village and set fire to the homes, causing extensive damage to the civilian property.
“The losses in Mae-O village are significant. Nearly the entire village has been affected, with about 80 homes burned down. What’s worse is that the military has destroyed rice and essential supplies by setting them ablaze. The villagers are currently in urgent need of food, especially during this harsh winter, as well as clothing,” stated a representative from the S&C group providing humanitarian assistance.
