Local residents have reported that junta forces burned down 14 houses in Pitaukpin village, Kanbalu Township, following clashes with local defense forces. The incident occurred after local defense groups attacked the junta forces stationed at a school in Pitaukpin village on February 3 and 4. In retaliation, the junta set fire to civilian homes on February 5, resulting in significant destruction.
One local resident stated, “The PDF forces attacked the school where the junta troops were stationed, killing many of their soldiers. In response, the junta brought the bodies of their fallen soldiers into the village and set fire to our homes, destroying 14 houses in total.”
