In Monwya, Sagaing Region, the junta executed a civilian by beheading him between Su Lay Kone village and Yan Naing Kyun village, according to an official from the Monwya-Amyinth road news team. The incident occurred around 11 PM on February 6, when approximately 70 junta soldiers arrived by boat from Alon Mingdaung port along the Chindwin River and ambushed a civilian.

“After the junta had left, villagers returning home discovered a body that had been beheaded, but we don’t know who the victim is. This area is known for being relatively safe, as there have been no reports of soldiers entering homes or setting fires in the villages,” the official stated.

Subsequently, the junta forces moved towards Thanlay Pin village and Su Lay Kan village around 4 AM on February 7, where they detained several innocent civilians among the nearby fields. They then retreated along the same route, taking five boats back to Monwya town. Local residents have been fleeing in fear as the junta has been conducting nighttime raids, leading to missing villagers and reports of civilians being detained.
