Military Junta Arrests Woman in Sekoan Village, Heavy Shelling Injures Four and Destroys Homes in Laido Township

In Laido Township, Nyaunglaypin District, Paekhu Region, reports from KNU indicate that the military junta arbitrarily arrested a 53-year-old woman, Daw Moe Moe, from Sekoan village and shelled several villages with heavy weapons, resulting in injuries to four civilians and the destruction of homes. On June 22, soldiers from the junta’s Khamar-60 battalion apprehended Daw Moe Moe without any explanation.

On June 25, around 3:15 AM, the KhaLar-264 battalion of the junta fired a heavy weapon (120 mm) that exploded within Thamin Ankhon village, injuring a villager named Saw Maelai and damaging a house. Later that day, around noon, the same battalion fired another 120 mm shell, causing explosions in the same village and injuring two villagers, U Chit Ko, aged 46, and U Myo Min, aged 72, along with the destruction of another home.

On June 29, around 5:25 PM, the KhaLar-264 battalion fired a 122 mm howitzer shell into Thowe Wa Sai village, and around 7:30 PM that evening, the battalion fired three more shells, which landed in Thamin Ankhon village, injuring a 48-year-old villager, Daw Tin Htay, as reported by KNU.
