In Hpakant, Kachin State, a ceremony was held on July 19 to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day, alongside protests aimed at overthrowing the military junta.
Residents of Hpakant paid tribute to the nine martyrs and others who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of a federal union and the Spring Revolution. They also honored the martyrs from various ethnic armed organizations, including the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF).
