Airstrikes by Military Leave 9 Civilians Dead in Thantani and Lashio

In Shan State, airstrikes by the military on Thantani and Lashio have resulted in the deaths of 9 civilians, according to the MNDAA.

On July 18, at approximately 4:37 PM, the military targeted residential areas in Thantani with airstrikes, killing 8 civilians and injuring another 8. Among the injured, 5 are reported to be in critical condition, while the remaining 3 sustained only minor injuries. Following the airstrikes, the Thantani District Committee and local defense forces quickly organized rescue operations, with injured individuals transported to hospitals by allied troops.

Similarly, on the morning of July 19, the military carried out airstrikes on Lashio, about 13 miles outside the city, resulting in the death of 1 civilian and injuring 5 others. Additionally, around 4 AM, the military targeted the Kyawhta area in Thantani District, damaging rice fields, crops, and 4 civilian homes.
