In Rakhine State, military council troops have executed 7 civilians from the Gandari rescue station in Buthidaung Township, according to the Arakan Army (AA).
On July 18, at around 11 AM, 7 civilians from the Khamis ethnic group residing at the Gandari rescue station in Ward 4 of Buthidaung Township went missing for a day. On July 19, around 10 AM, family members informed the Arakan Army, prompting security forces and local villagers to search nearby areas.
During the search, around noon on July 19, they discovered the bodies of three individuals—U Hla Htun, U Kyaw Hla, and U Maung Htun—who had been brutally killed with gunshot wounds near the Khamis village in the Latpanseik area.
On July 20, around 1 PM, the bodies of the remaining four civilians—U Aung Gyi, U Maung Maung, U Htun Naing U, and U Kya Htun U—were found near Khamis village, showing signs of fatal knife wounds.
The 7 civilians from the Gandari rescue station were simple individuals trying to make a living. While searching for food, they were ambushed and executed by armed troops trained and equipped by the fascist military council.
The Arakan Army reported that the bodies of the 7 civilians have been properly buried in collaboration with local villagers and that they continue to provide necessary assistance to the families of those innocent civilians who lost their lives at the Gandari rescue station.
In the Buthidaung and Maungdaw areas, the fascist military council has continued to train and arm troops, leading to the execution and arrest of civilians, the laying of mines on public roads, the burning of villages, the looting of civilian homes, and the distribution of threats. As a result, local civilians are advised to exercise extreme caution in their daily activities and movements.
