In Lashio, northern Shan State, military council airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks have resulted in the deaths of five civilians and damaged 15 homes, according to a statement from the TNLA. Today, July 31, the military council’s bombardment caused a fire in a department store in Ward 9 of Lashio. On July 29, similar attacks by the military council led to the deaths of two men and three women, with 15 homes and stores also damaged.
Over the 36 days of fighting, military council assaults targeting civilian areas have led to a total of 133 civilian deaths, with 170 injured. The attacks have also resulted in the damage of 105 homes, as well as a monastery and a school.
