Military Targets Civilians with Airstrikes in Ongoing Battles in Kyaukme

Fighting continues in Kyaukme, Shan State, with the junta deliberately targeting civilians in airstrikes, according to the TNLA. The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) launched an attack on August 5 at around 5:05 a.m. on junta-controlled camps Sakha-1 and Kha Ma Ya (501, 502) in Kyaukme. In retaliation, the junta used Y-12 aircraft to drop 96 bombs near the camp and 2 bombs near the Pat Myar Pagoda, followed by four attacks from jet fighters.

Additionally, although no fighting took place in Kutkai, the junta deliberately dropped seven bombs on civilians in the town using jet fighters, reports say.
