In Thipaw Town, Shan State, military airstrikes and shelling over five days have led to the deaths of 11 civilians, including one child, and injuries to 12 others, according to the TNLA.
From August 9 to 13, daily airstrikes and heavy shelling by the military targeted areas within Thipaw Township, resulting in fatalities among residents of Kyaungsu, Oak Kyin, Tarpote, Htone Sin, the city center, Nar Lae, the old town, Kon Son village, and Nam Paung Chaung.
Reports indicate that seven men and four women were killed due to the bombardments. Additionally, the airstrikes and shelling have resulted in injuries to 12 locals, including one child and one elderly individual. Residents from nearby towns like Kyaungmae, Namlan, and Panlon have also been displaced and are seeking refuge from the violence.
The TNLA states that the military is losing control over the region due to operations by three northern ethnic armed groups, including the 1027 operation in Ramakha, leading to escalated airstrikes and artillery attacks directed at the civilian population, constituting ongoing war crimes.
