Airstrike in Kyaukgyi Township Injures Civilians Including an 8-Month-Old Child

In Kyaukgyi Township, Bago Region, an airstrike by the military using drones has resulted in injuries to three civilians, including an 8-month-old child, and caused damage to a church and residential homes, according to reports from the KNU. The incident occurred around 4:20 PM on September 13, when military personnel attacked the Phyantalin village from the Kyauktaung football field. A 55-year-old resident, Daw Gawphithut, sustained injuries, and one church, one house, and two motorcycles were destroyed in the attack.

Furthermore, on September 15, around 7 AM, the military launched another drone strike targeting the village of Saepyu from the west of the Penwe Kone area, injuring a 37-year-old villager, Ma Winzin Moe, and her 8-year-old daughter, Ma Myat Phon Tint.

Additionally, on September 13, in the Sawhti Township, members of the Khamyar-598 battalion fired 17 rounds of heavy artillery from their base in the Fahbo outpost into the villages of Waukay and Shanzu, resulting in further civilian casualties.
