Four Civilians Killed, Including Two-Year-Old Child, in Airstrike on Villages in Thibaw Township

The military launched an airstrike on villages in Thibaw Township, Shan State, on September 23, killing four civilians and injuring three others, including a two-year-old child, according to the TNLA. The attack occurred around 3 p.m., with two fighter jets dropping six bombs on the area.

The bombing caused the deaths of 18-year-old Maung Kyi Tar, 21-year-old Maung Gu Tha, 50-year-old Daw Mar Lay, and 77-year-old Daw Aye Nwan, who were all family members living in Narlwe village. The two-year-old child and three men sustained severe injuries to their heads, legs, and arms due to the explosions.

At least 10 homes in Narlwe village were damaged by the attack, and one unexploded bomb remains in the area. TNLA also reported that on the night of September 22, at around 8:30 p.m., the military carried out a separate bombing raid using a Y-12 aircraft, dropping over 20 bombs and causing further destruction to civilian homes.
