Military Aircraft Bombs Thipaw City, Resulting in One Monk’s Death and Injuries to Two Civilians

In Thipaw city, located in the northern Shan State’s Taunggyi district, military forces reportedly dropped over 60 bombs using a Y-12 aircraft on neighborhoods and villages, resulting in the death of one monk and injuries to two civilians. The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) stated that the incident occurred today, October 9, at approximately 3 PM.

According to reports, ten bombs were dropped on the Shwe Kyaung neighborhood and the Pan Tain Taung area, damaging the administrative office, residential buildings, and the home of a local leader in the Shwe Kyaung area.

Similarly, late yesterday, October 8, at around 10 PM, over 50 bombs were dropped on the southern parts of Thipaw city, affecting the Pan Tain Taung neighborhood, the Oke Khin area, and the Nam Ngone village. It was reported that a bomb exploded in a monastery in Nam Ngone village, killing one monk and injuring a couple.

Additionally, more than ten homes in the southern neighborhoods, including Pan Tain Taung and Oke Khin, were also reported damaged due to the bombings.
