In Tamuu City, located near the India border in Sagaing Region, on October 12, military-backed militias executed three civilians, including one woman and two men, and left their bodies abandoned, according to local sources.

A local resident reported, “The bodies were left on the roadside near the Chaung Nat Gyi in Ward 14.” Among the victims was a 23-year-old Chin man from Thaya Kon village in Tamuu Township, whose family members later retrieved his remains for burial.

The identities of the remaining two victims, a woman and a man, were not confirmed, but residents from the Chaung Nat Gyi ward reportedly cremated their bodies on October 13.

It is said that the perpetrators of the killings were members of the military-backed militia led by the notorious Pan Chit Chan. This individual had previously been arrested and imprisoned for posting unflattering images of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on social media during the NLD government.

Since the military coup, the citizens of Tamuu City had initially captured him as a military informant, but he was later released. Following the withdrawal of protest groups due to the military’s violent repression, Pan Chit Chan rose to become a militia leader and reportedly took control of Ward 12 in Tamuu City.

After his son and another associate were executed by a UG group, Pan Chit Chan allegedly began his ruthless campaign against the residents of Tamuu City. “The number of people he has killed is already over a hundred. He used to control only around Ward 12, but now he dominates nearly the entire city. He has become infamous for his violent actions,” a local man stated.
