Four burned bodies were discovered in Thapyaythar Village, Shwebo Township, after an arson attack by the military, according to a spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Shwebo. The incident left nearly 200 homes in ashes.
The attack occurred between December 7 and 9, when junta troops, reportedly joined by Pyu Saw Htee militias from villages in western Shwebo Township, launched an offensive on Thapyaythar Village.
Locals reported that the four victims found in the village were not members of resistance forces or civilians from the area. The identities of the deceased remain unconfirmed, and no other residents from the village have been reported missing since the attack.
Authorities and local sources continue to investigate the situation amid ongoing military operations in the region.
