Military Attacks on Villages in Ledo Leave One Dead, Four Injured; Mine Explosion Kills One in Hsipaw

The military launched attacks using heavy artillery and drones on villages in Ledo Township, Bago Region, resulting in the death of one civilian, injuries to four others, and the destruction of multiple homes, according to the KNU central command.

On the evening of February 3, around 6 p.m., Infantry Battalion 264, based in Painzalote, carried out a drone attack, dropping three bombs that damaged three houses.

On the morning of February 5, at around 11:30 a.m., the same battalion fired a 120mm artillery shell that landed and exploded in Ngaphe Inn Village, injuring a resident named Naw Day Plar.

That same day, the battalion also conducted drone bombings on Taung Khin, Kyaik Kwin, and Kanyin Kyun villages. As a result, 30-year-old Naw Wah Wah Htun was killed, while Daw Khin Wah Lwin, U Thein Thein, and U Zing Myo Hlaing sustained injuries. Additionally, four homes were destroyed.

Meanwhile, in Hsipaw Township, a man was killed when a landmine planted by military troops exploded as he unknowingly picked it up. Another person suffered severe injuries from the blast, according to TNLA reports.
