Six more civilian bodies have been discovered in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, following military operations in the area, according to a representative from the Yesagyo Township Info Committee.
Since March 2, an estimated 200 junta troops from Pakokku-based Infantry Battalion 101, along with Infantry Battalions 256, 257, and 258 stationed in Yesagyo, launched an offensive into Yelaykyun region’s Myaysuntaung village.
During a three-day incursion, the military reportedly executed eleven civilians, including elderly villagers, and set fire to the entire village.
The victims have been identified as U Han Tin (over 70 years old), U Thein Myint (60), U Than Mani (88), Daw Than Pyay (60), Daw Hla Ngwe (86), U Kyi Thein (67), U Aung Myint (69), Ko Thant Zin (35), Ko Aung Linn Naing (40), U Nyunt We (70) from Malaka Chan village, and U San Win (50).
