At least two civilians were killed and multiple homes were destroyed by fire as a result of airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling carried out by the military in Taungoo, Phayakone, and Tidetine townships, according to local residents and resistance sources.
On April 9 and 10, military jets reportedly dropped bombs three times each day on Kyaukhlonegyi, Htonebo, and Ohnchitpin villages along the Leiktho–Taungoo road in Taungoo Township. Additionally, troops based in Than Taung Gyi fired heavy artillery, including Howitzer cannons, leading to the death of one civilian in Kyaukhlonegyi village and the destruction of five homes by fire.
In Ohnchitpin village, further civilian casualties were reported due to artillery attacks by the military, local sources said.
