In a deadly incident in Sagaing Region, six civilians, including a Karen individual, were killed when the military launched heavy artillery attacks on Ngalone Tin Village in Chaung-U Township, according to local sources.
The shelling occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on May 15, despite no clashes taking place in the area at the time. Residents said the military launched the attack without any prior fighting, targeting the village with heavy weapons.
The shells reportedly struck residential areas within the village, resulting in the immediate deaths of six people. Among the victims was one individual of Karen ethnicity, local residents confirmed.
