Protests in Washington, D.C. Demand Release of Two Christian Clergy and Seven Students Sentenced to Death

On December 18, a protest was held in front of the military council’s embassy in Washington, D.C., calling for prayers and demonstrations for the release of two Christian clerics and seven students sentenced to death by the military junta. The detained clerics, Rev. Dr. Hkalam Samson and Rev. Thian Lian Sang, along with the seven students from Dagon University facing the death penalty, were the focus of the rally. The demonstration demanded the immediate release of the clerics and students, highlighting the military’s unjust detentions and the ongoing repression in Myanmar.
